Wooshdu Heen Studio is an Indigenous owned multidisciplinary studio, established in 2020 and based in Teslin, Yukon.
The studio works across communications, graphic design, publications, media production, digital platforms and fine art — for Yukon First Nation governments and development corporations, territorial and federal departments, nonprofits, and arts and cultural organizations.
It is 100% Indigenous-woman-owned. Every engagement is led directly by Whitney Horne: the person who scopes the work is the person who directs it and delivers it.
Founder + Creative Director
Whitney Horne is an Inland Tlingit–Irish designer, writer, filmmaker and artist. She studied animation at the National Film Board of Canada’s Montreal studio, and has produced award-winning animated Indigenous content.
Her practice runs from documentary and short-form media through publication design, brand systems and digital platforms, to fine art and public art. That range is the studio’s argument: a single accountable lead can carry a file from message to finished artefact without handing it between vendors.

Working across Indigenous governance and creative practice at the same time is unusual, and it changes how a file is handled. Consent, protocol, terminology and community review are planned at scoping rather than discovered at delivery.
The studio hands over source files, documents its template systems, writes licensing in plain language and trains staff — so organizations keep long-term ownership of their own communications instead of renting them back.
